The Jaguars will start their Fall Camp on Friday

BATON ROUGE, La. – Fall camp for the Southern University football team will commence on Friday night at A.W. Mumford Stadium and Pete Richardson Field.

Southern aims to build upon their previous season's 6-5 overall record and 5-3 record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). With the exception of the Fan Day scrimmage, all practices will be closed to the public.

The team will hold practices from Monday to Saturday in the evening until Aug. 18 during fall camp, after which they will shift to afternoon practices at the beginning of the fall semester on Aug. 19.

In the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Division preseason poll, SU was projected to finish fourth. The team will welcome a group of talented new players to enhance an already strong group of returning players across all three phases of the game.

Fan Day

Fans are invited to watch the Jaguars at the Fall Fan Fest on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 9:45 a.m. inside A.W. Mumford Stadium. Gates open at 9 a.m. with plenty of festive events scheduled.

Fall Schedule

The Jaguars open the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 with a road trip to McNeese State for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Cowboy Stadium on ESPN+. The first home game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 for the Pete Richardson Classic against Savannah State.
