NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - The Tulane Green Wave must not fixate on the outcome of the game against Kansas State. They have a visit to Oklahoma coming up in just a few days.

The Tulane Green Wave with a record of 1-1 are set to face the Oklahoma Sooners, who are 2-0, in a game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. central time on ESPN. This matchup presents Tulane with another significant opportunity to showcase their skills on a major sports network against a formidable opponent whom they have the potential to defeat.

Following their performance last week, it seems reasonable to believe that the Green Wave, despite being considered underdogs, stand a chance of securing a victory.

In their recent game against Kansas State, Tulane was close to winning but ultimately lost by seven points. Despite a late fumble by their talented young quarterback, Darian Mensah, which led to the opposing team's decisive touchdown, Mensah displayed composure under pressure, indicating promising prospects for the remainder of the season.

Following a narrow 14-12 victory over Houston in their previous game, Oklahoma's head coach Brent Venables acknowledged the team's fortune in securing the win, a sentiment shared by spectators. The Sooners narrowly avoided a potentially embarrassing loss to a former Big 12 rival.

However, the question now arises: Are the Sooners facing challenges ahead? Will this close game shake them out of their early-season struggles? The answers remain uncertain until Saturday.

Tulane has visited Norman before, coming close to defeating the Sooners in their last encounter three years ago. It could be argued that the current Sooners squad is not as strong as the one Tulane almost defeated in 2021.
